Almost everyone, when the state of Arizona is mentioned, usually thinks of hot summers and wonders why anyone would want to live here.
While our summers are hot with a dry heat and low humidity, this beautiful state offers so much more with a variety of weather from the south(Tucson) through the central part of the state (Scottsdale, Phoenix, Carefree, and Cave Creek) and on to the north (Flagstaff, Sedona, and the Grand Canyon). mutton bustin
The photographs above represent the following:
The first photo of the Four Horses was photographed by Bryan Black in Cave Creek as part of the celebration of the Wild West Days when Cave Creek, an old mining town, returns for one weekend a year to celebrate the town’s heritage with mounted shooting, quick-draw shooting, barrel racing, and mutton bustin for the youngsters, bull riding, parades, and food and music.
The second photo of multiple Saguaros with a brilliant sunset in the background is a scene one often sees at sunset when visiting the Sonoran Desert area of Arizona which includes Scottsdale, Carefree, and Cave Creek.
The third photo of a houseboat pulling a smaller boat is on Lake Powell, one of the popular lakes in Arizona. On weekends, we see more trucks pulling boats as they head to the lakes than we ever saw while living in the Boston area.
The fourth photo of the mountains and the flowers covering the Sonoran desert is what one sees in Spring after a winter with a heavy rainfall. This floral display surprised us the most when we moved here because we never expected to see such a display of wild flowers in the desert.
The fifth photo of a large Saguaro, mountains and Bartlett Lake is another area where boaters flock to on weekends.
The last photo is of tourists near the Grand Canyon which is one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
